Ann M. Moore Recognized

Our own Ann M. Moore was selected to participate in this year’s Fall Open Juried Exhibition by the American Academy of Equine Art. Ann’s “Forehand Power Offense” was the only sculpted bas relief artwork admitted to the show which runs September 25, 2009 - November 8, 2009 in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Kentucky Horse Park. There were over 600 entries for the show, some from as far away as New Zealand, all competing for approximately 80 gallery spaces.

"Forehand Power Offense" is a framed series of three cast medallions depicting a polo pony at full gallop as its rider concentrates to execute a nearside forehand swing. It celebrates the grace, skill, and athleticism of both the pony and the player. You can see Ann’s piece on her site http://www.AnnMMoore.com/ or at the AAEA show site http://www.aaea.net/2009fallshow/default.htm .

We've also just added several gorgeous pieces of fine silver jewelry sculpted by Ann M. Moore to our website! Shop now for best selection, and order by December 15, 2009 for delivery by Christmas.

Micro Mini Painting Event

Want to have some fun, hang out with other model horse people, and learn how to paint micro minis? Maggie Bennett and Shannon Tostanoski are hosting "Myopic Mini Madness" on November 14, 2009 in Durham, North Carolina, USA. Cost is $20 per person and includes your pick of any one of Maggie's pewter micro minis, which will be at the event (you don't need to buy one from us in advance...although if you would like to, we'd love it!). Maggie will provide paints, sand paper and all the rest and teach you how to paint a micro mini. Maggie and Shannon just ask you to bring enough lunch for a potluck to share so they don't have to order in lunch.

For more info, please visit Maggie's website.

The New Micro Minis are Coming

It's t-minus two days and counting....I just got the shipping notice from the pewter casting company. Maggie's new micro minis should be here by Friday, latest. The plan is to unpack, inspect, photography them, and then get their sales pages running by this weekend. That's the plan. Now let's see what happens to thwart my best laid plans LOL!

Did you see this Ask painted by Dani Schacht? I cannot get over it. Look at the eyes. I just want to offer this horse an apple!
